Sharp LCD Televisions - Review

In appearance, the LC-32SH7E is a lot like Samsung's B550 model, which is no bad thing. The bezel is a uniform black gloss colour, much like many other LCD televisions, and has a sleek, sexy look about it. The specifications are appealing, with three HDMI inputs, two SCART sockets, a VGA port to plug in your computer, and an integrated Freeview digital tuner. The bonus extra here is the inclusion of a USB port, something you don't always get with other LCD televisions in this price range. This is useful for playing MP3 music files, or showing off your digital photos on your TV. A big 'thumbs up' to Sharp for including this.

The LC-32SH7E also holds its own when it comes to the quality of the display. Boasting a widescreen panel, 1366 x 768 resolution and a 4000:1 contrast ratio, it's more than a match for many of its competitors. It does lack a full 100Hz mode, running at 60Hz instead, but this is quite a common omission in the lower price bracket. If you want 100Hz, you have to pay a bit more for it, simple as that. Despite this, the LC-32SH7E has good picture quality. The blacks have fine depth, the shadow detail is good and the colours are crisp with great contrast. There's also a noticeable lack of jagged edges too, which is surprising for such a cheap model.

When it comes to audio, a common area of complaint in cheap LCD televisions, the LC-32SH7E doesn't disappoint. Sporting two 5 watt speakers, this model achieves impressive levels of volume for its size. The clarity is also good, with no noticeable distortion even with the volume turned right up. The set also punches above its weight when running video games. Usually, games can suffer from input lag and motion blur when run through a television without a 100Hz mode, but that's not the case here. Even faster paced video games run smoothly on the LC-32SH7E, with no nauseating blurring when things get hectic.

Overall this TV caters well for the budget consumer in the face of stiff competition from other manufacturers, and gives the likes of Hanns-G and Goodmans a good run for their money.

Samsung LN55B650 55-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV Review (Red Touch of Color)

Design: Following Samsung's Touch of Color scheme the Samsung LN55B650 is glossy black with a red fade along the edges of the frame that become black as it reaches the screen. The whole frame leads down in a V-shape towards the glass-topped stand below it that can swivel.

Specifications: Featuring a 55 inch screen with a Dynamic Contrast Ratio of 100000:1 and a 120Hz refresh rate, the Samsung LN55B650 offers up to 1080p Full HD video quality viewing. The set uses Samsung's Auto Motion Plus de-judder processing enabling blur reduction and judder control. Connection-wise the LCD HDTV offers three HDMI ports, two component-video inputs, one VGA D-SUB input, one RF input for cable and satellite, an Ethernet (LAN) port, one stereo analog and one optical digital audio output. A side panel offers another HDMI port, two USB ports and one AV input with composite-video.

Features & Performance: Utilizing the same menu system and remote control as its predecessor, the Samsung LN55B650 is easy to use and navigate. The set offers Yahoo widgets for a variety of options including stocks, news, videos, games and Twitter, that appear in a banner along the bottom of the screen. Through the Internet connection you can stream videos, photos and music from DLNA-certified devices as well as from the USB ports.

Controls were abundant with picture tweaks, four adjustable picture modes, five color temperature presets, white balance, three levels of noise reduction, a seven-position gamma control and a dynamic contrast control. Performance-wise the LCD HDTV delivers accurate color in bright scenes with no over-scan for 1080i or 1080p movies and video. Black level depth was good with very smooth performance due to the adjustable de-judder processing.

The LCD HDTV does very well with standard definition sources, resolving every line effectively while PC performance was equally impressive at 1920x1080 with no over-scan or edge enhancement. All in all, the Samsung LN55B650 is a very good 55 inch LCD HDTV for the mid-range user with impressive performance that should give some of the more expensive models a run for their money.

LCD HDTV Reviews - What Are The Advantages?

One of the nicest advantages of these displays are the fact that it is easier on the eyes and easier to view especially verses CRT displays. LCD televisions are also bright and work very well in many different lighting conditions. Glare and flicker is virtually absent and the picture is still bright even in rooms with alot of ambient light. Viewing angles can be up to 160 degrees ( 80 degrees in both directions - when viewing off to the right or left ). Displays with positive LCD TV reviews will usually include a better viewing angle in the rating.

Another advantage is that dot pitches are getting better and better. The dot pitch is basically the distance between sub-pixels of the same color. The closer together the pixels the better the sharpness of the picture. A dot pitch of 26 mm is better than a dot pitch of 28 mm. Shoot for a dot pitch of 28 mm or better. Additionally, LCD televisions have very good colors - 256 colors for each of the sub-pixels (red, green and blue) with smoother pictures (no scan lines) and you can start watching them right out of the box as they have everything you need built right into one system.

Displays with the better LCD TV reviews today describe the improvement of their response times. The better the response time the more smooth the motion is on the display and the less ghosting that occurs so fast action scenes will look much more smoother and fluid. Many liquid crystal displays today have response times of 20 ms (milliseconds) or better. Another advantage that should be mentioned is that they work very well and have very nice pictures when connected to computers. Many people connect their media center PCs to their HDTVs and the LCD TV will give you some of the most clear and crisp pictures when using your computer with your HDTV display.

The life span of these displays are about 60, 000 hours. So if you watch TV 8 hours a day 7 days a week the display could last up to 20 years, by then you will probably have a better LCD television with at least LED technology or even better. The LCD TV reviews also usually talk about the fluorescent bulbs and the higher rated displays will have better bulbs so ensure you purchase a brand name display as they usually have top quality bulbs in their displays as well as using more accurate longer lasting backlighting and colors.

When doing your research, check to see if the bulb can be replaced or if it is built into the system. Also check into how the backlighting system is warranted as sometimes the backlighting warranty is shorter than the warranty of the display itself.

Can LCD TV Reviews Give You the Lowdown on the Market Trends?

In spite of the ugly face of recession showing up in the world market, it has not been able to dampen the sales of LCD TVs. Studies show an overall rise in sales over the current year. LCD TV reviews are an eye-opener in this direction. User reviews can provide first-hand information about the current trends and also the pros and cons of a particular product. If you are interested to find out everything about a TV before you buy one, make sure that you read LCD HDTV reviews available on the internet.

The ongoing war of LCD TV against Plasma TV seems to be gaining momentum with every LCD HDTV company vying to put their best foot forward. The odds seems to be shifting in favor of the LCD TVs. But what are the features you should notice in LCD reviews before making a decision to buy an LCD HDTV?

Features to bargain for

Resolution - Nowadays, it is difficult to find an HDTV which does not have 1080p resolution. Although the pricing of 1080p HDTVs is a lot more than those having 720p, you will get a better picture quality in lieu of the extra money. LCD TV reviews mention the resolution and will give a hint about the effectiveness of it.

Engine - The LCD HDTV manufacturers advertise their engines with great fanfare. You need to read the LCD HDTV reviews to know which one is better. The Sony Bravia engine is a hit with almost everyone. And Toshiba is coming up with Pixel Pure to answer the competition.

Refresh rate - Most of the LCD reviews compare the refresh rate of the HDTVs. The higher the refresh rate, the better are the images. The pixels are able to refresh faster resulting in a natural flow of images. The action sequences become enjoyable with less judder.

Screen size - This is perhaps the first feature which draws your attention. You tend to be overawed by the large screen sizes. But reading LCD TV reviews will make you wiser about the difficulties of watching on a large screen. The clarity and picture quality should not be compromised with. Making a judgment about the appropriate screen size can be done on the basis of the LCD HDTV reviews.

Connectivity - This is an important aspect of every LCD TV. The more number of HDMI inputs and the presence of USB port and SD card slot will give a slight upper hand to an HDTV. These inputs will allow you to get connected to a number of compatible HD-ready devices. You can also view photos and play your camcorder on the HDTV.

Warranty - Never forget to find out about the warranty conditions from LCD TV reviews. Most of the companies advertise about 1 year warranty on parts and labor. But few are particular about the after-sales service. It is wise to find out about fully professional companies who care about their customers before investing your money on a pricey HDTV.

It is difficult to reach the perfect decision. Sometimes we are taken up by the marketing ploys of big companies and make rash decisions. But LCD TV reviews will always put you on the right track.

Panasonic TC-26LX85 26-Inch 720p LCD HDTV Review

I recently bought the Panasonic TC-26LX85 26-Inch 720p LCD HDTV and I am very satisfied with it. This is my first LCD TV, and the moment I saw it my search for a good quality LCD TV came to an end. Before buying the LCD TV, I did a lot of research and checked many stores. But what caught my eye about this Panasonic LCD HDTV was the price; it comes at an unbelievable affordable rate. The television offers various features which you will only find in expensive LCD televisions. For budget buyers like me, this is the perfect choice.

This stunning 26 inch television comes with mind-boggling features, such as the LCD technology which controls the brightness and image quality. The wide screen makes watching movies and playing games even more fun experience. All my friends are hooked on to it all the time and the television can also be connected to the home theatre system easily. These flexible features give it an edge over other LCD HDTVs offered at the same price. You can even use this television for watching a slide show of your JPEG pictures with the help of gallery player software, all you need to do is to place the SD card into the opening provided in the television.

The manual and operation of the television is also quite easy as you it does not need rocket-science to figure out how it works. The television is user-friendly and you can easily operate it with the remote control. Another advantage of this television is that it can easily be transported from one place to another as it weighs just 27 pounds. The television can be rotated up to 170 degrees which allows a wider viewing ability for its users. The sound quality of its scan speakers is also quite remarkable and if you want you can attach additional speakers as well. This television has now become an important component of my life as it keeps me and my friends entertained and has never posed a problem. I highly recommend the Panasonic TC-26LX85 26-Inch 720p LCD HDTV to all as it is a complete value for your hard-earned money.

LCD TV Review of the Samsung 46 Inch LN46C550

In this LCD TV review I will be going over some of the things that I have experienced with my new Samsung 46 inch LN46C550. I purchased it about three weeks ago, had it professionally installed on the wall of my bedroom and have been using it ever since.

The first thing that I noticed about this Samsung was the incredible size. It was a huge upgrade from my old 14 inch Toshiba. The LN46C550 is an monstrous 45.9 inches from corner to corner. But with that size comes 48.3 pounds of weight. Like I was saying before I had mine professionally installed and I highly recommend that you do the same because of its large size and weight.

As soon as I had the TV setup I loaded up a DVD and tried it out. The picture was amazing. I've tried out a lot of TV's but this one really surpassed them all by a lot. The picture was crystal clear and the image flowed so nicely I could have sworn I was looking out my window. As for the sound I was not disappointed. Its quality was excellent and the surround sound that I had installed as well really made me feel like I was in the movie.

The last feature of the LN46C550 that I really enjoyed was the wireless port hookup. It allowed me to stream movies, pictures, and music straight to my TV so that I could access all of it with just a touch of the remote. This feature is definitely not a necessity but I have found it very convenient.

To sum up this LCD TV review I will leave you with a list of the pros and cons that I have found while using this TV.
Pros
-Amazing Picture Quality
-Large Size
-High Quality Sound
-Wireless Port

Cons
-Hard to Set-Up and Move
-Costly

Samsung LCD TV Reviews

Samsung has various high definition televisions that have outstanding picture quality and speakers that give the illusion of surround sound. Some of the best televisions Samsung has to offer include the Samsung 26 inch LCD TV, the Samsung 32 inch LCD TV, and the Samsung 40 inch LCD TV. All three of these televisions contain great features and one of these televisions will definitely be a great fit in your home.

The Samsung 26 inch LCD TV has many features that make it an outstanding product. This flat-panel television produces clear and crisp scenes due to a contrast ratio of 4000:1. With a 160 degree viewing angle, this television provides you with an enjoyable viewing experience. High quality speakers are already inserted in the Samsung 26 in. LCD TV. These speakers provide an illusion of surround sound which means you don't have to go out and buy additional speakers. Therefore this television is a great money saver. Don't be fooled by the small size of the television. Although it isnt as big as its counterparts, the Samsung 26 in. LCD television fills up a room with ease and allows everyone to view it without strain. Its small size makes it extremely portable and it can be mounted on a stand or even on the wall. You can even plug your computer into it and view movies and music on the product itself.

The Samsung 32 inch LCD TV is sleek and slim and includes many features that make it one of the best Samsung has to offer. The picture quality of this television is simply outstanding. The screen possesses high resolution quality and displayed images appear incredibly realistic. The 32 in. LCD TV is attached to a swivel base which allows you to easily adjust the angle of view, twenty degrees to the left or right respectively, to suit your personal preference. There are ten watt speakers already built in to the Samsung 32 in. LCD television which provides outstanding sound quality that add an enjoyable viewing experience. This television also provides a virtual surround sound so it is also a great money saver. The screen can also function as a computer monitor so you also don't have to waste money buying a monitor. This feature also allows you to play video games on an HDTV which provides a unreal gaming experience. There are also two hdmi plugins and only one TV cable which is much simpler than having to deal with dozens of cables coming out of the TV.

The Samsung 40 inch LCD TV is larger than the previous two products and provides a much crisper and clearer screen. It has a contrast ratio of 30,000:1 which creates fantastic picture quality. Even the darkest scenes appear bright on the screen, and the color is much richer. The picture quality is as good as much more expensive televisions such as plasmas. The screen has a 16:9 viewing angle which allows you to view the entire scene without parts of it cut out such as the bottom line on Sportscenter. I always hated when my old television would do this and since I hooked up the Samsung 40 in. LCD TV I haven't missed a thing. This television contains two more hdmi plugins than the previous two televisions, making a grand total of four. These plugins allow you to connect your surround sound, mp3 player, digital camera, dvd player, and other electronics. The ability to plugin four different things at once makes the Samsung 40 in. LCD television a very versatile product. With this television, you will never want to go to the movies again.

All three of these televisions are of the best Samsung has to offer and provide specific features that are designed to address specific needs of consumers. You can read reviews on the Samsung 26 inch LCD TV, the Samsung 32 inch LCD TV, and the Samsung 40 inch LCD TV and also purchase these products on learning-about.com/SamsungLCDTV

LCD TV Reviews - Read Twice Before You Leap

People are quite intimidated by LCD TVs simply because there is a lot of technical stuff in there. People don't know what terms like dejudder processing mean and hence they quickly lose interest in TVs. I too faced similar problems but as a complete tech freak, I spent a lot of time on the Internet researching about these terms. Writing LCD TV reviews is a cup of tea for me now and now there are lots of TVs ending up in my labs for review. My popularity has gradually grown on the Internet and now people send me tons of e-mails asking about technical TV stuff. I am trying to make things a bit simple here by telling you guys how I write the reviews.

Styling: If you are crazy about fashion, this will be the most important part for you in LCD TV Reviews. Most TV's have the same looks but there are experiments being done here (like Sony's Monolithic design) in order to make the TV look out of the box. I have not had any ugly looking TVs in my labs; most of the panels have black border with a sheet of glass in the middle. I have separate section for the design in my LCD TV Reviews since I get a lot of e-mails asking me about it.

Size: This is directly proportional to the cost. Higher the size, higher the cost. While writing LCD TV Reviews, I pay special attention to the features offered on the smaller TVs of 32-34 inch sizes. I don't expect them to have full HD resolution but things are getting interesting for this size range; there are new features being added here at the moment. Once you go above the 46 inch mark, I don't recommend buying a LCD; as plasma is a much better option.

Remote: This is the medium of communication between you and your TV. The clicker has to be comfortable; the button layout must be good. The buttons that you need the most must come close to the thumb's natural position. The remote design occupies a big part in my LCD TV reviews and it is really important. A clicker must be comfortable or else it will ruin the TV experience.

Menu layout: While writing LCD TV Reviews, I have seen some really horrible menu layouts and they are quite frustrating. You some times feel that you are solving a crossword puzzle. The menu layout has to be good, all the functions that you need the most must be easily accessible. The features which are rarely used can be dug deeper in the menu. You might feel this is not important now but once you buy a TV with a bad menu layout, it will certainly get on your nerves.

Interactive platform: This is a relatively new feature for TVs and has quickly become popular amongst the masses. You can access the Internet content right from your TV and also stream movies through the Web. In my LCD TV Reviews, I mention what all interactive features are present in the TV. If you have the ones that you need, go ahead and buy the TV or else keep looking elsewhere.

Connection options: This is not that important in LCD TV Reviews but still worth a mention. In big TVs, the connection options are pretty much similar but in small TVs there is no fixed layout. For instance, there might be one HDMI port in one 32 inch TV and it might not be there in the other one.

Finally, I write about the picture quality in my LCD TV Reviews and this section is the biggest part of my article. Picture quality determines whether the panel is worth buying or not.

Samsung LN32B460 LCD HDTV Review

I was in the market for a 32-inch HDTV a couple of weeks ago. I am just an average consumer who is looking for a LCD HDTV that is not too expensive, has good looks and a decent video playback performance. When I found it, it all came in the form of the Samsung LN32B460 32-inch LCD HDTV.

The Samsung LN32B460 has a 31.5-inch screen that has a 1366 x 768 resolution. For that, it is capable of playing 720p HD videos. It also has a 50'000:1 dynamic contrast ration and a 6ms response time. For audio, this model comes with speakers (20W) that uses the SRS TruSurround HD technology.

The Samsung LN32B460 looks really good with its glossy black bezel and sleek design. It is mainly black in color with just a thin stripe of dark red at on the bottom bezel. The bezel is also fringed with a layer of transparent plastic that gives it an edgy look.

Due to its size, this model makes a perfect LCD HDTV for small spaces and rooms. My unit is placed in my bedroom where I often use it to watch moves and play games. So far, playing games and watching Blu-ray movies with the Samsung LN32B460 was a great experience. 720p may not be full HD but it is more than enough for a 32-inch model. The audio from the speakers was also loud enough to fill the room without the help of external speakers. Currently, the Samsung LN32B460 32-inch LCD HDTV retails for around $534 each.

LCD Television Reviews and Guides - Step 3, How To Pick The Right Screen Size

Liquid crystal display quality control issues can be a problem as the more pixels that are added the more transistors that need to be added also and the higher the risk of one of the transistors failing. As the screen size gets very large colors may appear slightly off or faded due to the fact that it is more difficult to arrange the light evenly and therefore can disrupt color reproduction. Although these issues can be a problem the new LCD televisions are getting better reviews and the technology is improving and minimizing these issues by embedding transistors inside very large sheets of glass. This is good news for consumers because that means prices will be dropping.

The optimum viewing height should have your eyes level with the center of the screen when watching normally. A good test to see if you are sitting too close is if you notice the screens tiny dots or pixels which will be distracting while watching your LCD television. However, the size of your display will depend on the size of the room you will be watching in. Some general guidelines you can follow is for smaller rooms like a bedroom or office a 26" up to a 32" LCD television should be fine. Many users recommend based on their experiences to get the largest screen that you can afford and the largest screen that fits your room.

Here are some general guidelines that one can follow on viewing distances to help you pick the right size of your LCD television. As always use your eyes to help you judge these recommended distances. 20 to 27" use a viewing distance of 3 to 5 feet. 32 to 37" use a viewing distance of about 6 to 8 feet. 42 to 46" use a distance of 10 to 14 feet away. 50 to 56" use a distance of about 12 - 16 feet away. One thing to consider is that these distances do vary depending on the resolution of the LCD television. Generally if you have a resolution of 720p the viewing distance is greater than if you have a 1080p LCD television. So before you buy your next LCD display first measure your seating distance and use the guidelines above to help you choose the proper size of your next LCD television.

LCD Monitor Reviews - My Seven Challenges

Writing LCD monitor reviews I quite similar to that of HDTVs but there are fewer technical terms involved. I find it much easier to write LCD monitor reviews as compared to a TV. A computer monitor is mostly made up of TN panel which is the cheapest one. The higher end modes use IPS technology which is very expensive and hence recommended only for professionals like graphic designers. I have tested quite a lot of LCD monitors in my labs and I feel quite lucky because manufacturer's send me all their products for testing. Some times, they send me the monitors even before they are released in the market.

This article is about how I write LCD monitor reviews. It takes me about 3-4 days to complete a monitor review after which I send them back to the manufacturer. I look first at the price and then see if the monitor gives good value for money. I am jotting down a few things that I test the product for before finally writing LCD monitor reviews.

Style: This might not be that important to you but fashion conscious people are crazy about the style of everything that they own. I get lots of e-mails asking me to focus more on the looks of the product and hence I make sure this section is big enough in my LCD monitor reviews.

OSD: All monitors give OSD array but sometimes they are not easy to navigate. I mention all this in my LCD monitor reviews. I don't feel uncomfortable OSD navigation is much of a problem simply because you don't calibrate the monitor too often. You just set in once, according to your preference, and then leave it as it is. I have seen some panels having touch sensitive OSD arrays. Some even have glowing buttons on the OSD and this is useful for calibrating the monitor in the dark.

Ergonomic options: There are plenty of ergonomic options that a manufacturer can put in a computer monitor like tilt, pivot, swivel, and height. The pivot options is seen only on professional monitors and most monitors have only the tilt options. I mention all this in my LCD monitor reviews, there are some people who are willing to pay more to have these ergonomic options.

Movie, text and game tests: This is for picture quality tests. I see parts of text, and also play some games and movies for checking out the video quality. For game tests, I use World of Warcraft since it is really good in testing the monitor's color quality and also the vibrancy in games. All the scores are mentioned in my LCD monitor reviews.

Panel type: I mostly get TN panels in my labs for testing because it is the most common one. TN panels are also relatively inexpensive and hence give good value for money. On the other hand, there is the IPS panel which gives superior performance in terms of color and brightness but the price of these products are really high and hence are recommended for professionals only. I give more points to a panel in my LCD monitor reviews but not all can afford to spend so much money on a computer monitor.

Power consumption: The world is going green and hence I write about how much power the monitor consumes in the LCD monitor reviews. I also compare one monitor with another since I get a lot of them in my labs for reviewing.

Viewing angle: If you have a lot of friends with you, there is a need for wider viewing angle. If the viewing angle is not good, the people who are sitting at less than optimal angle will see a big black screen and nothing else.

These are my tests for LCD monitor reviews. Also, I go through the Internet a lot checking what else can be done to improve the reviews.

LCD TVs Reviewed

Statistics say that the average household has 2.24 television sets, and each person in that household averages about four hours of television time per day. With these kind of numbers, it is no wonder that the television industry is so diverse. LCD TVs have become a staple in many households, with traditional tube televisions taking a back seat to new and emerging flat screen technology. There are many features that make an LCD TV a worthy purchase, and some things to look out for before buying one.

LCD stands for "liquid crystal display," and is true to its name. LCD TVs are praised for their dynamic pictures that deliver crystal clear picture, especially when combined with high definition programming or movies. The colors are crisp and bright, providing a real life feel to those watching. The high resolution technology used in LCD televisions is perfect for gaming, showing picture slide shows, or just sitting back to watch a movie.

Another well known benefit of LCD TVs is their unique screen sizes and shapes. Tradition tube TVs have a square screen that is curved, often providing less than perfect picture clarity, and taking up a large amount of space. The newer LCD models are light weight and thin. The screen is flat instead of curved, keeping the picture from becoming distorted while still giving the same quality to people on all sides of the room. LCD televisions also tend to come in a rectangular shape, perfect for shows that are broadcast in HD or movies.

For those that are more economically minded, the LCD is becoming the most cost efficient TV on the market. These televisions are not only becoming increasingly inexpensive, but they are also more energy efficient at home, which lowers the electricity bill. Many LCD TVs more than meet the Energy Star requirements for energy consumption, some bragging about up to fifty percent less energy.

Before making an LCD purchase, it is important to compare the features of various models to get the best quality. One of the most important factors in this purchase is the television's contrast ratio. A good contrast ratio is 1500:1 or more. This will insure a good picture, especially on larger screens.

Another spec to look at is the native pixel resolution that the LCD TV has to offer. This is usually going to be either 1280x720 or 1920x1080. If these numbers seem confusing, it is much easier to remember that a good TV will have either 720p or 1080p native pixel resolution, with the higher number being a better quality picture.

Some things to remember when buying an LCD television is that unlike a traditional tube TV, and LCD can be either wall mounted, or set on a TV stand. If a home has an old entertainment center, or built in television shelf, there may be some adjustments to make in order to make and LCD fit into its spot. Some people opt for special media stands that are attractively small and chic, and the perfect height for LCD television viewing. These can usually be purchased at the same store that the TV is.

Make sure you study a model and brand well before making an LCD purchase. Find out warranty information, consumer reviews and lifetime expectancy before making a purchase. Determine an appropriate size of television for the room it will be in. A fifty-two inch LCD may look great in the store, but could be a little overwhelming for a studio size apartment. Making the upgrade to an LCD is an exciting purchase. There are many good quality TV's available, and there is sure to be one to fit your needs.`
